These sketches are labelled on the back as '1st sketches of Malcolm Fraser'. They are Frith’s earliest known depiction of Australia’s 23rd Prime Minister, probably drawn before he came to office. The sketches are less caricature and more realistic; they are obviously not intended to be published and were possibly Frith’s way of ‘getting his eye in’ and familiarising himself with one of politics’ rising stars.
